About Chase Side
Chase Side is the name of a road (and area) between Cockfosters and Southgate. It gets it's name from Enfield Chase, originally the King's hunting grounds. The surrounding street names also reflect this: Chase Road (which leads due north from the station to Oakwood, and was formerly the avenue into the Chase), South Gate (originally the 'South Gate' of Enfield Chase) and Chase Side itself.
