Supporting the mental health of children in Berks, Bucks, Herts, West London, Surrey and other surrounding counties. When miles for smiles was first set up the aim was quite simple. To raise money for the private mental health therapy for children. In 2022, 18.0% of children aged 7 to 16 years and 22.0% of young people aged 17 to 24 years had a probable mental disorder. In children aged 7 to 16 years, rates rose from 1 in 9 (12.1%) in 2017 to 1 in 6 (16.7%) in 2020. However sadly, Child and adolescent mental health services are under-resourced to the point of refusing patients. Children and adolescents are frequently being denied support which is so needed. So, the miles for smiles team proudly raised money IYCS Young Minds, registered charity 1183465 by walking miles to provide smiles for children by ensuring that no child or parent has to suffer in silence. In 2022 we successfully raised 10,865.62 and we aim for more in the following years. EVERY PENNY RAISED GOES TOWARDS THE FUNDRAISER.
