Join us for a nine-day festival of colour and music - the Colourscape Music Festival. Immerse yourself in a unique and mesmerizing experience that blends light, music, and architecture into an immersive art installation. Explore a dazzling labyrinth of colour and space, accompanied by live music and performances. Prepare to be transported to a world of wonder and imagination through this innovative and sensory experience. Boston Manor House is a Jacobean Manor House in Brentford, West London, built for Lady Mary Reade in 1623 and later owned by the Clitherow family from the 1670s until the 1920s. The House is now open to the public with free entry six days a week. Its beautifully restored historic interiors, including breath-taking original ornate plasterwork, are joined by two community exhibition galleries, meeting rooms and an attractive modern caf. Inside Boston Manor House there will be free colour themed tours and trails, as well as family craft activities and mindful colour focused drawing activities from 24th May - 1st June. Prokofiev Symphony No 1 Classical Nielsen Flute Concerto Stravinsky Pulcinella Suite Haydn Symphony No 101 The Clock Daniel Hogan Conductor Hannah Gillingham Flute Catherine Schofield Leader Kew Sinfonia would love you to join us for our summer concert at St Anne's Church, Kew Green, when we will be presenting a programme exploring both classical and neo-classical styles. Paying homage to the great Franz Josef Haydn, we will be performing his Symphony No 101, popularly known as "The Clock" due to the 2nd movement's ticking rhythm. This famous work will be complimented with Prokofiev's charming and humorous "Classical Symphony", No 1. Imagining how Haydn might have composed had he still been alive at the time, the piece is unique in its conscious attempt to revive the classical style, but with a modern twist. The other two works in the programme are also neo-classical, in contrasting ways. We are delighted to welcome soloist Hannah Gillingham to play Nielsen's Flute Concerto - a warm, lyrical work combining classical economy with quirky 20th century orchestration. And our final piece, Stravinsky's Pulcinella Suite, is a vibrant and witty orchestral work which draws inspiration from the "commedia dell'arte" and 18th-century Italian dance music, particularly that of Pergolesi - all treated with Stravinsky's own twists!
