"Former Fulham FC owner Mohamed Al-Fayed erected a statue of the late Michael Jackson outside his club in 2011. It was met with disdain from fans and was removed by current owner Shahid Khan in 2013. That season the club was relegated, with Al-Fayed claiming it was because of the removal of the statue that brought good luck."

“Barnes is a wonderful area to live in. It is very close to the Thames, has great rail links to the city, and some of the most charming pubs you will find anywhere. It is close to the A3 and the M4. Barnes pond is very picturesque. There are a number of coffee shops, restaurants, and stores meaning a weekend in Barnes is time well spent.”

Luna De Mol: violin Krytof Kohout: violin Elliot Kempton: viola Findlay Spence: cello Programme: Haydn String Quartet in B flat, Op.76 No.4 (Sunrise) Janáek String Quartet No.2 (Intimate Letters) Smetana String Quartet No.1 in E minor (From My Life) As the only ensemble to ever win both First and Audience prizes at the Premio Paolo Borciani International String Quartet Competition in Italy, the Fibonacci Quartet are one of Europe's leading young string quartets. Originally formed at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, the Fibonaccis are a Resident Ensemble at the Escuela Superior de Musica Reina Sofia in Madrid with Günter Pichler and at the Dutch String Quartet Academy in Amsterdam. Following public finals at Wigmore Hall, the Fibonaccis were selected as Young Classical Artist Trust (YCAT) artists in 2024. During the 2024/25 season the Fibonaccis will perform extensively throughout Europe,, including concerts in the UK, Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, Spain and France. They will undertake residencies with ProQuartet in Paris and Britten Pears Arts in Aldeburgh, as well teaching and performing at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff in their position as Resident Quartet. The Quartet are prolific prize winners and have received numerous awards including First Prize in the Royal Overseas League Chamber Music Competition, First Prize in the Cavatina Chamber Music Competition, The RPS Henderson Chamber Ensemble Award, First Prize in the International Triomphe de lArt Competition in Belgium, The Kirckman Society Award, Audience Prize at the Schiermonnikoog Festival and Special Prizes of the Shostakovich Association in Paris and Peermusic in Hamburg. Additionally, the Quartet regularly give radio and television broadcasts including on Dutch National Television, Dutch Concert Radio, BBC Radio 3 and RAI tv, Italy. They were honoured to work closely with Kaija Saariaho on a new recording of Terra Memoria made at the Barbican as part of the BBC Total Immersion series. The Fibonacci Quartet are generously supported by the Escuela Reina Sofía, the Hattori Foundation, the Cosman Keller Trust, The Frost Trust and Fondation Biermans-Lapôtre in Paris.Read more

Nashville comes to Barnes! Cat’s Country Band is a southern-style party band, with a fresh & modern take on Country music that will have us all up and dancing in Barnes’ very own hoedown to classics including Dolly Parton’s 9 to 5, Don Maclean’s American Pie, Texas, Beyonce’s Texas Hold Em and Taylor Swift’s Love Story. This event is kindly sponsored by Laurent Residential Additional Information and Terms and Conditions The site will be open from 1pm. With the exception of the VIP pre-booked tables, you will need to supply your own picnic rug or chairs: spaces will be allocated on a first come first served basis. There will be a BBQ and Bar on-site which will open at 1pm and remain open throughout the event. All alcohol on-site must be purchased at the Bar; you will not be permitted to bring your own. Accessibility: if you require additional support to attend this event, please email info@osoarts.org.uk so we can fast-track you onto the site and provide you with a table and chair if required. Unfortunately, due to the temptation of picnic food, dogs will not be admitted. All events will go ahead, whatever the weather, with the exception of Met Office weather warnings. If this is the case you will have the option to request a refund or - as this is a fund-raising event for the OSO and the BCA - consider donating the ticket price to cover the cost of running the event.
