Steve Tilston, the hugely talented and award-winning performer, presents an intimate evening of music, featuring his own critically acclaimed material, alongside unique arrangements of popular folk songs. He is accompanied by Hugh Bradley on double bass. A mainstay of the folk music scene since the 1970s, Steve is perhaps best known for his songwriting prowess, but he is also a blinding, dazzling guitarist with a style that echoes the elaborate rhythmic folk baroque while also drawing from classical, roots and the tradition to create a sound that is recognisably Tilston. A favourite at TwickFolk, Steve's visit to the Cabbage Patch comes hot on the heels of the release of his latest studio album, Last Call, in March 2025. Its the first day after winter break at East High. The Jocks, Brainiacs, Thespians and Skater Dudes all find their cliques. Basketball team captain and resident jock, Troy, discovers that the brainy Gabriella, a girl he met singing karaoke on his ski trip, has just enrolled at East High. The couple causes an upheaval when they decide to audition for the high school musical. Although many students resent the threat posed to the "status quo," Troy and Gabriellas alliance might just open the door for others to shine as well.

Poets will be using poetry and music touching on the story of theatre, from Chaucer to Shakespeare, from Opera to Variety, from Travelling Actors to the Theatre of War. Refreshments served.

After a successful pilot in 2023, Richmond Arts and Ideas Festival is returning for a full launch this June to showcase arts, culture and community. The theme for this year’s festival is Cultural Reforesting, which aims to promote positive social change and conversation by asking “how can we renew our relationship with nature?”. For two weeks, venues and public spaces across Richmond will host over 50 events including music, dance, theatre, art installations and exhibitions, as artists endeavour to answer this important question.

Our tour will start at Orleans House Gallery, viewing the immediate garden, from where we will look at the magnificent and recently restored James Gibbs Octagon Room which in the 18th century offered fine views of Johnstons renowned gardens. We will then take a short walk to nearby Marble Hill House, a property and garden built for Lady Henrietta Howard, mistress of King George II. After lunch at the Marble Hill Caf, we will go for another short walk to JMW Turners Villa on Sandycoombe Road. Built to JMW Turners own design with the help of his friend, the architect Sir John Soane, the villa was accompanied by a five-acre garden. We will visit at a time when the flowers are out in full bloom.
