I was born in Teddington in 1958. I now live in cornwall and realise how lucky I was as a child. We were not wealthy - but we went swimming in the outdoor pool, riding in the park and making dens on the bombsites on Church Road. My cousin and I were sent to the Abercorn Arms on a Sunday to get my Grandad back for dinner; you could hear him singing half way down the road. Yes, these are memories. I went back in 2012 and I still love Teddington. I will return one day.

Teddington Lock. The Anglers pub by the river. Bushy Park. Park Lane Stables. Great shops. Great cafes. Great restaurants. Love it!

Teddington is a beautiful area with a strong, peaceful family atmosphere. There are some really pretty streets with lots green space on your doorstep, such as Bushy Park and Hampton Court park, the River Thames and lots of smaller little parks and playgrounds. The highstreet is divided into two parts - the newer section with typical convenient high street shops - and the more independent section towards the river. All in all, Teddington is a very desirable place to live in London.

Teddington is a suburban area in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames in south west London, on the north bank of the River Thames, between Hampton Wick and Twickenham. It stretches inland from the River Thames to Bushy Park. Teddington is mostly residential but is bisected by an almost continuous road of shops, offices and other facilities running from the river to Bushy Park. There are three clusters of offices on this route. Around Teddington Station and the town centre are a number of offices in industries such as Direct Marketing and IT. Several riverside businesses and houses were redeveloped in the last quarter of the twentieth century as blocks of riverside flats. The area has been described in the national press as "leafy". Teddington gives its name to Teddington Lock, which is across the river at Ham and is accessible via the Teddington Lock Footbridges. This marks the upstream limit of the Tideway and is a complex of three locks of which the barge lock at 650 feet (nearly 200 metres) is the longest on the River Thames.
