Both moms and dads are welcome to this class.
The course objectives:
To provide parents with a secular, evidence-based mindfulness approach, aimed at enhancing their therapeutic parenting skills.
Participants will learn practical mindfulness techniques to increase emotional awareness, improve communication, and strengthen the parent-child bond.
We will talk about screen-time and how to handle it.
The program includes easy-to-follow plans, supportive handouts, and a structured six-week follow-up to ensure sustained practice and integration of concepts into daily parenting, ultimately fostering a nurturing and supportive family environment."
Why Mindfulness Works?
Mindfulness, the practice of focusing on the present moment without judgment, has garnered attention for its numerous benefits. One key reason mindfulness is effective is its ability to regulate emotions. By fostering awareness of thoughts and feelings, individuals can better accept and manage their emotions, leading to improved emotional stability.Additionally, mindfulness enhances focus and cognitive flexibility. In our distraction-heavy world, training the brain to concentrate on the present is crucial. Research shows that regular mindfulness practice can lead to structural brain changes, improving attention and self-regulation.Mindfulness also promotes connectionto oneself and others. Increased self-awareness fosters empathy, enhancing interpersonal relationships and allowing individuals to appreciate life more fully.Grounded in extensive research, mindfulness has proven successful in addressing mental health issues like anxiety and depression. Evidence-based therapies incorporating mindfulness, such as Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), showcase its therapeutic potential. In summary, mindfulness works by regulating emotions, enhancing focus, fostering connection, and relying on solid scientific research, making it a vital tool for improving mental and emotional well-being.
