"In 1981, four boys found what they thought were bear prints in the snow on Hackney Marshes. After raising the alarm, the police came to scour the area but no 'beast' was found. To this day, we still do not know if the animal was real or if it was an elaborate hoax."

I love Hackney Downs for its diversity and great food options!

Although this is in London it is like a country village with Clapton Pond, the market in Chatsworth Road, Palm 2 on the corner where you can sit and enjoy a latte or pop up Pizza night. This area is very vibrant with art galleries, live music, international food shops and restaurants, excellent transport links to the City and West End. It is also great for parents with the St John 's village fete, ice rink and horse riding near by, lido, great schools and is very safe and neighbourly - definitely the best part of London to live!! :-)

It's always busy, good transport connections, lots of shops and upcoming buildings.

See the Hackney information... open green spaces, walk distance to Olympic park via canal, 2 stops to the Olympic Park and Westfield from Homerton station. Lots of interesting shops and cafes and Sunday market on Chatsworth Rd. The Picture House cinema and The Hackney Empire on Mare Street.

Great transport links (e.g. Clapton Overground Station straight into Liverpool Street and good bus links into the city or through to Euston), major regeneration work underway, lots of green space, parks and recreational open space within walking distance (e.g. Springfield Park, Millfields, all the Lea, Hackney and Walthamstow Marshes and associated open space linked to parts of Lea Valley Park, you can walk alongside the river to the Olympic site, variety of food shopping, access to local schools and BSX Academy, within walking distance of Stoke Newington restaurants and Hackney Mare Street. Friendly people. An area with all amenities and good access.

We're very close to the lovely Lea Valley walk and Springfield Park, so you can go for long walks and see herons and cattle, plus the horses at the Riding Stables. It's generally a very friendly.area with a lot of creative people, and only 12 minutes from Liverpool Street.
