Our April Dance is here, as genre defying,and eclectic as ever. This month we’re kicking things off with live show from the wicked duo Uh ahead of their new EP coming out on Prah Recordings . Also making his TRC debut is selector extraordinaire Joey Manzi from the Elevation crew! Sound system courtesy of the lovely people at Audio Gold. As usual Lex Blondin will be setting up the space with some wicked lights picked up from @insightlighthing, and play some sonic gems too. About the artists : uh is the brother/sister duo of Dominic and Fionnuala Kennedy. uh united bedroom-burbling hardware jams, video-graphic performance art & spoken word. It wasn’t long before uh would find a footing in the London DIY scene. Fionnuala exploits a pitch module, echo, and live looping unit, producing freq-pranged monologues and cantos; Dominic wrenches the knobs on various Rolands, Doepfers and sequencers, causing juddering glitches in the system. Joey Manzi is a broadcaster and DJ based in West London, half of the club night/ radio show Elevation, the man is highly versed musically in sounds within the soulful space. From jazz, soul and hip hop to Chicago House, Brazilian funk and broken beats, be prepared to go on a soulful journey with plenty of highs and music for movement. As usual, the lovely people from Audio Gold our in charge of the speaker system, and it is DELICIOUS . Zoe Lyons has kept herself busy in the last couple of years by having what can best be described as a monumental midlife crisis. It involved buying a sports car, having a brief marital separation and running a 100k ultra marathon which really didn’t end well. Along the way her hair decided the best thing to do was abandon ship. It ain’t easy being a middle aged woman: try doing it with a combover. Thankfully Zoe has been able to explore the funny side of all these twists and turns. It's time to sell the silly car and try and put the wheels back on her life. Zoe is the host of BBC2’s Lightning. She's known as a star of Live at the Apollo and a regular on Have I Got News for You (BBC1), QI (BBC2), and Mock the Week (BBC2).
