For a thousand years it has been romanesque versus gothic, gothic versus renaissance, palladian versus baroque, classical versus gothic revival. The greatest battle came in the 1960s, when modernists took control of British planning and plotted the demolition of large swathes of the centres of Britain’s cities. Most of London’s West End was to be destroyed. Piccadilly Circus, Whitehall, Nash’s St James’s, Covent Garden and Soho were to disappear. Sisters is the launch production for UNCOMMON THEATRE, a theatre company created to support working-class actors, writers and creatives. New Lands is BACK and better than ever, presenting a tag team bill of the best new live music every other Tuesday, all for a fiver. Our second offering for April is a pop night through and through with a live set from Bella Unwin and a debut show from Irish artist Matthew Ryan Thomas. Our live acts will be followed by the resident New Lands DJs, who'll be spinning tunes to fit the bill on each edition. Expect deep cuts, anthems and more to soundtrack a perfect Tuesday tipple. ACCESSIBILITY Venue - There is one step up to access the pub, however, there is a ramp available which staff can assist in putting in place when required. Toilet - Due to the listed nature of the building, we do not currently have a wheelchair accessible toilet in our venue. However, we do have a single cubicle fitted with a rail in the ballroom. Parking - There is free on-street parking available throughout Stuart Road. Seating - If you require a seat for one of our gigs please get in touch.
