Earlier this year, we wrote: Help to Buy – act before December with advice for buyers who want to use the scheme before it ends. We have a big update: the cut-off date has been agreed...and it's much sooner than anyone anticipated.
Confirmed Deadlines for Help to Buy:
Read more about the scheme in our earlier blog.
- 31 October 2022, 6pm: homes must be reserved and applications must be submitted now.
- 31 March 2023: scheme ends – homebuyer must be the legal, contractual owner of the home to qualify for the scheme.
Also, with the recent base rate increase, you may need to devote a little more time to your Help to Buy mortgage application - which we explain in our article about how rising interest rates affect Help to Buy mortgages.
Need help finding your new home before 31 October? We're putting together a Foxtons Help to Buy event in September, with all the resources you need to beat the deadline.
Our recent Help to Buy event helped 145 potential new buyers make their plans to get on the property ladder. We had over 58 Help to Buy developments to view. We also had additional resources like questions answered by experts and mortgage advice from Alexander Hall.
We have another event coming up in September. Register your home search on My Foxtons and we'll be sure to send the details of the event. You can bring your questions and explore the many Help to Buy homes we have available.
The deadline is much closer now. However, if you’re interested in the scheme, you can still benefit from it. We’ve got the resources ready; make your plan with our original Help to Buy blog, contact Foxtons New Homes if you have any questions, or look through homes for sale with Help to Buy to get started. You can also find a list of new builds available with Foxtons.
