Senior Concert
It is with great pleasure that I invite you to the Senior Concert at Borlase. The evening is a showcase of the many achievements of our busy senior ensembles this year, and is also an opportunity to celebrate and thank our talented musical leavers. The programme will feature performances from ensembles including the Symphony Orchestra, Senior String Orchestra, Jazz Orchestra, Concert Band, Cantorum, Chapel Choir, Madriguys and Gospel Choir, as well as further chamber music items. Year 13 musicians will also bid us farewell with their much-anticipated Leavers Medley. The concert will take place in the school theatre at 7pm on Thursday 24 April. Doors will open at 6.40pm; please be aware that latecomers may not be admitted until an appropriate moment in the concert. Online ticketing will close at midday on Wednesday 23 April: we advise you to book early as this is always a popular event. Ticket prices are now tiered (tiers 1-3) depending on view: between 10 - 14 for adults, and 5 - 7 for students. Programmes will be available to purchase from the Front of House team on the night; please note that any Tier 1 ticket bookings will include a free programme. As ever, Friends of Borlase will be kindly supporting this event, by offering a range of refreshments at the Friends Bar. This will be open in advance of the event from 6.40-6.55pm, as well as during the interval. Please note that there is absolutely no parking in the school grounds. The public car parks in West Street and at the back of Sainsburys should be used. We would ask you to be mindful of blocking roads and access in the residential areas around the school. Hell be solo this time and will have a new solo acoustic album out produced by Mike Timmins of Cowboy Junkies. Recent 2024 shows saw Jerry Leger opening for legendary artist Steve Earle. Music at the Water's Edge
A concert of much-loved English madrigals and part songs for a summer evening with supporting jazz from Guildhall musicians This is a free concert but please book your free tickets in advance. The retiring collection with be split equally between Fibromyalgia Action UK and Dementia UK. Parking is available in the Grove House car park, Cookham SL6 9SR and the concert location is immediately adjacent to the parking area. In the event of rain, the concert will take place in Holy Trinity Church, Cookham, SL6 9SN. The choir would like to thank the Church Wardens for kindly making the church available. Unfortunately we are unable to provide chairs. Please bring camping chairs or similar. Please contact a member of the choir if this proves difficult.Read more
