Odyssey Ensemble makes its London debut at Kings Place with a programme featuring Max Richter’s ‘The Four Seasons Recomposed’ with Elena Urioste as soloist and the world premiere of a brand new work combining orchestral music with poetry and electronic sound art. This performance themed around refugee journeys explores themes including memories, loss, new life, and hope. Odyssey Ensemble is the UK’s first professional musical collective dedicated to sharing real-life stories of asylum-seekers and refugees in their own words. This programme opens with a new piece featuring poetry written and read by asylum-seekers and refugees forced to flee persecution, reflecting on what they carried with them on their journeys into their new lives. The poetry is paired with music for string orchestra composed by Odyssey’s composer-in-residence, Sarah Jenkins, and electronic sounds designed by their resident sound artist, Noah Lawson. Richter’s interpretation of Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons is performed by star soloist Elena Urioste, taking on fresh meaning coupled with short films on refugee experiences of the four seasons. We toyed with theming this one to match our fantastical debut fashion show by Unlikely Studios and inviting you all to come as fetishistic creatures (we even floated the name Monster's Kink) but this year we are going to celebrate our Birthday by remembering some of our most iconic memories, with homages to previous events and spectacular outfits being incorporated into our 8 room venue transformation, so recreate a favourite look or create our most memorable outfit yet to come and join us to mark another year of our wonderful TG family We will also be moving the Couples Room to a bigger, new space, meaning we will be bringing something new to this ground floor, and that we an increase capacity to make the night even bigger than before!! NO ID, NO ENTRY Safety at TG is paramount, and consent is our core value. Anyone not behaving respectfully will be removed, so please take the time to familiarise yourself with the TG Club Rules, and Fetish Club Etiquette before attending. Please note that Electrowerkz has a "No ID NO Entry" condition in their license, so all customers, regardless of age, must present physical photo ID (not a photo on your phone) to be scanned upon arrival. Accessibility The ground floor of Electrowerkz with Speaksleazy (and dancefloor), courtyard with main performance space, and new playspace are fully accessible; and there's an accessible toilet on the ground floor. The dungeon, cloakroom, couples room and main dancefloor can only be accessed via stairs. There will be dungeon furniture in downstairs room (formally the couples room) available for priority use by wheelchair users.
