Uncover Music Presents: CHRIS JAGGER TRIO Chris Jagger has been touring since the end of the pandemic with a stripped down power trio, across Switzerland, Czech Republic and Holland. Introducing new material from his excellent ‘mixing up the medicine’ album on Bmg he even finds time to read a few notable passages from his recent autobiography which always goes down well. Paul Atkinson on drums (Etta James, Charlie Dore, Micky Jupp) puts down a solid beat and with her array of pedals and low sounds, Elliet Mackrell (Kangeroo Moon, David Allen, Billy Bragg)n lays down bass end as well as vocals and top end on the violin. Chris holds down the structure and has lost none of his vocal power added to solid guitar playing. 2021 saw the release of Chris jagger’s 13th album titled ‘Mixing up the Medicine’ on Bmg, a slightly jazzier taker than his previous recording all songs penned by Chris and Charlie Hart and produced by veteran producer John Porter (Roxy Music, The Smiths, Buddy Guy) and featuring excellent session players such as Dylan Howe on drums, Ollie Blanchflower double bass and Neil Hubbard and John Etheridge on guitars. Simultaneously released was his autobiography ’Talking to Myself’ which garnered excellent reviews in the USA and the UK. Chris also reads extracts on his live gigs which always goes down well.Read more

Combined Choirs of St Marys Barnes and St Michaels Barnes Conducted by Ben Markovic & Owen Elsley Address by Revd Dr Sam Wells, Vicar of St Martin-in-the-Fields Music by Moran, Howells, Parry and Vierne Join us for the final celebratory event of the Barnes Music Festival Choral Evensong sung by the combined choirs of St Marys Barnes and St Michaels Barnes. The address is given by Revd Dr Sam Wells, Vicar of St Martin-in-the-Fields who is well known as a theologian, author, broadcaster and institutional leader. He is a regular contributor to Thought for the Day on BBC Radio 4 and is Visiting Professor of Christian Ethics at Kings College London. Admission is free.
