What are the fundamental methods actors use in order to inhabit someone elses skin? In this workshop we look at both the inner and the outer being, and at the relationship between the two. How does inner feeling inform outer expression - and vice versa? (Some of our exploration will build upon the Status exercises covered in our previous workshops - but not to the disadvantage of newcomers.) We also explore the power of something we all did as children: observation, and copying. For this, I might ask participants to do a little homework beforehand. Go people-watching on public transport or in a public place, and (subtly) observe a strangers behaviour for a while. What traits do you notice? What kind of voice do they have? How do they walk, and move? And what guesses do you therefore make about who they are and what their life is like? In our workshop, we have a look at these individual characters, as reproduced by each participant - and experiment with creating a world in which some of them co-exist.
