The Candlelight Club's May Ball
London’s award-winning 1920s-themed speakeasy party, with live music, cabaret and cocktails in a secret venue filled with candles, where everyone dresses the part.
With days lengthening and temperatures rising, come and let your hair down in our candlelit ballroom, where there will be live music from those ribald rabble-rousers of ragtime, Jack Calloway and his Midnight Creepers, guaranteed to keep your feet moving on the dance floor. Host with the most Champagne Charlie will be channelling cabaret decadence and burlesque bombshell Betsy Rose will evoke the anything-goes spirit of the Jazz Age. When the band aren’t playing our DJs the Bee’s Knees will be spinning vintage vinyl.
Elsewhere our tarot reader Lucius will be on hand to glimpse into your future, while Michelle Krausz will be running her pop-up vintage jewellery shop.
You can come just for drinks and dancing, but you can also preorder the three-course dinner, or reserve a table with Champagne (with a menu of bar snacks and sharing platters to order for the table). Ticket-holders get an email a few days before revealing the secret location (close to a tube station).
This will be our last speakeasy extravaganza until the autumn, so pull on your flapper dress and get ready to Charleston!
"The closest you'll find to an authentic Jazz Age experience in central London. Its unique ambience, fuelled by hundreds of candles, is truly a scene to behold." —Time Out
