What locals say about W8

  1. Minutes from Kensington Palace and Hyde Park and a stone's throw from Portobello Road I believe that W8 really has the best of everything. Shops on Kensington High Street, Kensington Church Street, and Notting Hill Gate mean that you're never far from what you need, or what you want! There are also some cracking pubs, like the Churchill Arms, which I'd recommend going to see in summer. I've only lived here for five months, but I've loved every second!

  2. I love Kensington because I was born here and it has not really changed a great deal. I walk though he Church Yard of the Church where I was Christened, and past the cake shop that made my Christening cake. I can throw bread at the ducks swimming in the same ponds as I did when taken to the park as a child. I can look in the window of the antique shop where my grandmother bought my 21st birthday present. The hospital where I was born has been redeveloped. Some of the shops have changed for the better, and the food is better in some of the new restaurants than it was - but the spirit of Kensington has remained the same. I am now 53.
