Wanstead is a charming, affluent suburb in north-east London that offers a welcome respite from the crowds of the capital’s centre. 8 miles (12.9 km) northeast of Charing Cross, Wanstead is bordered by South Woodford, Redbridge, Forest Gate, Leytonstone, and Walthamstow.
