I love Southgate because it has lots of green space, excellent transport links, great schools and a lovely village feel.

The Southgate Green area is a lovely, leafy area that feels like a village community. The parade of local shops and restaurants on Cannon Hill provides the cafe culture whilst Grovelands Park gives the area a rural feel. With an array of community events throughout the year and an incredible view across central London, Southgate Green gives you a taste of both urban and rural life.

Great schools. Nice roads. Roomy houses. Community feel. Safe and easy to get into Town on the tube or walk up to th BR at Winchmore Hill. Great parks and a nice town centre, a good M&S, great leisure centre. Great middle class part of North London at a good price.

It's the best of both worlds, easy to commute into central London, with a really up and coming, bustling highstreet, and yet it has an abundance of beautiful green spaces on the doorstep. Grovelands, Broomfield, Oakwood and Oak Hill park to name a few, with the huge Trent Park, a pick-your-own farm and the countryside within a five minute drive. It's a safe area, with good schools and affordable family homes, I don't know of any other area in London that can boast all of that.

The choice of parks, the greenery, and a fantastic village community feel, but still being within commutable distance to the City, with excellent transport links. Southgate has some of the best schools in the country for Primary and Secondary. It's a real find with a varied community, and less stuffy and pretentious than it's neighbouring areas.

A suburban area in North London, Southgate was named for being the south gate to Enfield Chase, the king’s hunting grounds. Southgate is located 8 miles (13 km) north of Charing Cross. The area has good transport links. You’ll find an array of shops in the town centre and around the Green south of the centre. Southgate also has a selection of restaurants, cafes, and pubs, a theatre, a leisure centre, sports and recreation facilities, and several parks. There also are several good schools in the area, which is popular with families looking to rent. Southgate’s known for its long-standing Greek community.
