Queen of cosy crime and mega best-selling author of The Appeal and The Twyford Code, Janice Hallett joins us to discuss her new genre-busting crime novel The Examiner. The students of Royal Hastings Universitys new art course have been trouble from day one. From acclaimed artist Alyson who seems oddly overqualified, to hapless Patrick who can barely operate design software, and city boy Cameron who blusters his way through assignments. Not to mention Jem, whos a gifted young sculptor but cross her at your peril. The year-long course is blighted by students setting fire to one anothers artwork, a rumoured extra-marital affair and a disastrous road trip. But finally they are given their last assignment: to build an art installation for a local manufacturer. With six students who have nothing in common except their clashing personal agendas, what could possibly go wrong? The answer is: murder. When the external examiner arrives to assess the students coursework, he becomes convinced that a student was killed on the course and that the others covered it up. But is he right? Having grown up in a culturally vibrant environment, her upbringing fuels her passion for challenging stereotypes and promoting inclusion within the music industry.

Join Wild South London for a Wild Walk around Beckenham Place Park to celebrate spring and learn about the flora and fauna in the park. Wild Walks are free events that encourage people to get outside and explore local green spaces and learn collectively about the brilliant biodiversity to be found on our doorsteps. Well walk for about an hour to talk about things we find or enjoy some quiet time in nature. Each walk will be led by a Wild South London trustee, but are informal and collaborative events where anyone is welcome to share knowledge and expertise or ask questions. Children are more than welcome, as long as they are supervised by an adult at all times. Dogs are also welcome but must be on a lead whilst in the garden areas as per Beckenham Place Park's rules.
