This business district has loosened its tie - there are so many brilliant pubs and bars to visit on a night out in Canary Wharf.
Canary Wharf is quickly becoming a London hotspot for young professionals, thanks to the thriving local scene. If you’re thinking of relocating to the East London borough, these are the pubs and bars you're going to want to know about, courtesy of DesignMyNight.
Stuart Harris, our Foxtons Canary Wharf Sales Manager, said:
Canary Wharf is well know as London’s central business district with towering office buildings and luxurious residential properties which overlook the River Thames. But, there is so much more to the area than this.
The area is steeped in history from London’s industrial past – from Grade I listed warehouse conversions in West India Quay to the cobbled streets of Limehouse – there is so much to explore. In recent years, there has been a huge amount of investment in a plethora of shops, bars, restaurants and leisure activities which makes it the vibrant and thriving community it is today.
Canary Wharf is also extremely well connected, and the opening of the Elizabeth Line has been a huge draw for many looking to relocate to the area. Whether it is a nice stroll along the Thames path, a pub lunch, shopping or just grabbing a coffee with some friends, there is something for everyone here. It's a must visit in London’s East End.
The Sipping Room boasts a large alfresco terrace overlooking the docks, that’s decked out with floral foliage and gorgeous decor. It’s certainly up there with one of the prettiest spots to drink in East London, with a 27-strong cocktail menu (not including their epic sharing cocktails). There’s also a range of world craft beers and ales, as well as delicious low- and no-alcohol options, and all-day dining options if you find yourself feeling peckish.

If you haven’t visited The Alchemist yet, we’re at a loss for words, to be honest. The cult bar is home to an unassuming terrace that is perfect for watching the world go by over a cocktail. Newbies should order ‘The Colour Changing One’, a delicious blend of Grey Goose Vodka, Briotett apple, soda, citrus and, of course, magic, which changes colour whilst you’re sipping it. Be sure to charge your phone for this one, you could easily fill up your camera roll here.

For a taste of chilled out, Spanish vibes by way of Canary Wharf, head to La Terraza. Tucked away in a corner of Cabot Square, this beautiful bar and terrace is inspired by alfresco dining on the streets of Barcelona and Madrid. In true Spanish style, menu highlights include plenty of tapas options, and as for drinks, guests can expect cocktails, sparkling wines, beers, and, of course, sangria. Salud!

You could say it’s a wine lover's paradise and one thing’s certain - when you visit, you’ll be back time and time again.
Another destination for the vino lovers, Vagabond Canary Wharf offers panoramic views over the water, as well as serving 120 wines by the glass, and a newly introduced self-pour craft beer wall - it’s all very fancy.
