Woolwich is a district in south London, located in the London Borough of Greenwich. Woolwich formed part of Kent until 1889 when the County of London was created. It is notable as a river crossing point, having the Woolwich Ferry (and the lesser-known Woolwich foot tunnel) to North Woolwich. Once redevelopment of the former Royal Arsenal site began, Woolwich started to enjoy a renaissance with high street chains and independent businesses opening in the area creating a new community feel. On top of its fabulous riverside location, the area is affordable compared to other areas of London with similar amenities, has great transport links, and features many hidden gems including beautiful period listed buildings. Woolwich has the added bonus of the new Elizabeth Line link, which upon completion will transport Woolwich residents into Canary Wharf, central London, and beyond, in exceptional time. Other attractions include a bi-weekly Saturday Farmers’ Market which attracts many visitors to the town. Woolwich is a family orientated area, with some ‘outstanding’ Ofsted primary schools and highly rated secondary schools. Foxtons are proud to be one of the leading estate agents in Woolwich offering properties for sale and to rent in Woolwich
