Bringing London Fashion Week Home

With Fashion Week having strut its way through London over the past few days, we thought we’d take a look at some of the trends that are expected to blossom this season and how they translate into the stylish interiors of some of our favourite for sale and to let properties.

Colourful Credentials

In anticipation (fingers crossed) of the coming sunshine, warm shades are here for 2016. Vibrant contrasts can brighten any home, be it just a pop of colour or a rainbow of hues. Hot pinks and glowing oranges will have you feeling particularly toasty, even if the weather doesn’t quite match up.

Rosemary Avenue, Finchley, N3

This beautiful three bedroom house incorporates fiery touches in the kitchen with its vibrant light shades and cabinets that liven up the room.

Wapping Lane, Wapping, E1W

Set in a striking warehouse conversion, this one bedroom flat uses colourful lighting behind glass panels for a contemporary impression.

New River Village, Hornsey, N8

This chic two bedroom apartment in Hornsey presents alternating neon sections to liven up its generously sized balcony.

Mirror Image

According to Vogue, sparkle isn’t just for Christmas and metallic shades are stepping into the limelight this coming season. Add some shine to your home with use of mirrors, creating a fantastic sense of space and adding a touch of glamour.

Thurloe Place, Knightsbridge, SW7

Ornate details are doubled with floor-to-ceiling mirrors, presenting an eye-catching visual effect in this opulent two bedroom apartment.

Prime Meridian Walk, Canary Wharf, E14

This exceptional three bedroom split-level penthouse flat utilises a mirror beneath the breakfast bar, giving the striking impression that the kitchen island is unsupported.

The Green, Theydon Bois, CM16

This outstanding three bedroom cottage boasts mirrored splashbacks that reflect plenty of light back into the room and demonstrate a modern finish.

Wild West

Grab this trend by the horns and take a few style tips from the Wild West. Cowboy-style boots, tasselled accessories and suede made an appearance in New York, Milan and London. South American style also sets a striking tone in a property, perfect for those looking to find a home with a stylish rustic edge.

Bovingdon Road, Peterborough Estate, SW6

This newly refurbished four bedroom house offers contemporary style alongside wood and exposed brickwork details that demonstrate the South American influence in its design.

Ferry Street, Canary Wharf, E14

Set on the banks of the River Thames, this eight bedroom house boasts wood ceilings throughout and country-style tiles in the kitchen alongside a modern chalet-style open-plan layout.

Church Street, Woking, GU22

Embracing a more traditional approach, thick timber beams present ample rustic charm in this Grade II listed three bedroom cottage; the perfect setting for relaxing after a long day lassoing, or just another shift at the office.

Period Perfection

Ruffles, high necklines and floral patterns paint a pretty Victorian picture on the runway for 2016. Period sophistication is aplenty on the property scene too, whether it’s fused with modern décor or simply exudes period grandeur throughout.

Tudor Road, High Barnet, EN5

Beautiful flowery wallpaper provides an enchanting backdrop in this elegant five bedroom detached house, alongside other attractive classic features.

Marylebone Road, Marylebone, NW1

This grand four bedroom apartment features a wealth of sumptuous touches, including a textured section of the wall that acts as a built-in headboard for a luxurious four poster bed.

Eaton Terrace, Belgravia, SW1W

This outstanding four bedroom house benefits from a recent refurbishment, whilst still maintaining its period allure with ornate details drawing the eye at every turn.

Striking stripes

Stripes are set to make a statement this season, and you don’t have to limit that wow factor to your wardrobe. With an endless variety of colours and widths available, stripes present an eye-catching impression, tailor-made to suit each individual room.

Rope Street, Rotherhithe, SE16

Sections of thick stripes don’t overwhelm the eye but still provide a chic feel in the contemporary kitchen of this recently refurbished three bedroom house.

Wellington Close, Notting Hill, W11

This beautiful five bedroom house opts for more subtle shades and finer lines, presenting a softer setting which is still very much on-trend.

Hornton Street, Kensington, W8

You don’t have to use statement wallpaper to incorporate this trend into your home, as can be seen in this two bedroom maisonette that utilises bold black beams against a white wall for a striped backdrop.

No matter what your personal fashion style is, there are plenty of properties with the interiors to suit, so don’t settle for anything less than fabulous. With a plethora of trends emerging for the year ahead, keep abreast of the catwalk-worthy properties on our home inspiration section!
