This award-winning eco-home in Kingston offers an attractive blend of luxury and sustainability. Perfectly located overlooking Richmond Park, this six-bedroom detached house was built by renowned German house builder HUF HAUS, whose modular timber and glass housing system has attracted clients from all over the world.

This remarkable house features striking contemporary interiors, two private balconies, off-street parking and a magnificent private heated pool in the large rear garden that borders leafy Richmond Park. Beautiful hardwood decking areas, silver birch trees and a summer house with sauna add to the appeal of this stunning outdoor space.

Contemporary white interiors complement the glazed walls, sky lights and roof lanterns that flood every part of the house with natural light. Tiled floors provide a sleek finish to the ground floor and bathrooms, while wood floors add warmth to the bedrooms and landing area.

Kingston Hill runs along the eastern edge of Richmond Park, London's largest Royal Park at 2,500 acres and a Special Area of Conservation. Local shops provide easy access to everyday essentials, while Kingston upon Thames is also within easy reach for comprehensive high street shopping and riverside dining options. Overground trains to Clapham Junction from nearby Norbiton station provide swift connections through into central London.

The HUF HOUSE post-and-beam construction concept has evolved since its creation in 1972, but retains the essential elements of a timber frame, extensive glazing and bespoke, architect-designed layouts. Like every HUF HAUS, this property is built to exacting standards for outstanding energy efficiency – making it close to carbon-neutral. Underfloor heating throughout the property is fed from a NIBE ground source heating system, which also provides hot water for the rest of the house.

Although sustainable building aficionados have been aware of the HUF HAUS concept for some time, the UK public was largely unaware of the company until an episode of the hit Channel Four show Grand Designs in 2004. Pensioners Greta and David Iredale were featured building their own HUF HAUS on the show, and the company's servers crashed due to the number enquiries from the UK shortly after the show aired.

This property is currently listed for sale with no chain for £4 million. Please see our main listing page or contact our Kingston office for more information or to arrange a viewing.
