When one pictures Canary Wharf, you probably think of banks, skyscrapers and business men - and you wouldn’t be wrong. However...
In the past 10 years, the East London location has become increasingly desirable to renters and buyers alike, thanks to an abundance of new shops, restaurants and green spaces in the area, largely due to the unveiling of the Olympic Park back in 2012.
Stuart Harris, our Foxtons Canary Wharf Sales Manager, said:
Canary Wharf is well know as London’s central business district with towering office buildings and luxurious residential properties which overlook the River Thames. But, there is so much more to the area than this.
The area is steeped in history from London’s industrial past – from Grade I listed warehouse conversions in West India Quay to the cobbled streets of Limehouse – there is so much to explore. In recent years, there has been a huge amount of investment in a plethora of shops, bars, restaurants and leisure activities which makes it the vibrant and thriving community it is today.
Canary Wharf is also extremely well connected, and the opening of the Elizabeth Line has been a huge draw for many looking to relocate to the area. Whether it is a nice stroll along the Thames path, a pub lunch, shopping or just grabbing a coffee with some friends, there is something for everyone here. It's a must visit in London’s East End.
If you’re thinking of making the move to Canary Wharf (and we strongly recommend that you do), here are the best restaurants in the area that you’re going to want to know about, in a guest article by DesignMyNight.

Restaurants in Canary Wharf
Pizza Pilgrims
You’ll probably be familiar with this cult pizza venue thanks to their London-wide venues. At the West India Quay branch, you can, of course, expect the usual: delicious pizzas, crust dippers and cocktails, but you’ll also find alfresco seating (it can be covered or heated, in the event of poor British weather), as well as an actual pizza playground, complete with arcade games, pinball machines and old school board games.

The waterfront restaurant is home to an expansive terrace, complete with plush seating and ambient lighting so you can live out your date night dreams. Wahaca
Not only does this branch of Wahaca boast tasty tacos and brilliant burritos, but you can also expect a buzzing terrace providing stellar views over the financial district. Interiors are bright and funky, with a huge living plant crawling across the back wall that’s sure to level up your Insta feed. Whether you’re in the mood for Mexican, or just fancy a drink or two (or four - we don’t judge), the Wahaca in Canary Wharf never disappoints.

The Breakfast Club
Another cult London venue is The Breakfast Club. Home to sky-high pancake stacks, an American take on the trusty full English and breakfast cocktails galore, this place might just be Canary Wharf's ultimate brunch spot. With retro vibes and disco balls a plenty, this place also hosts DJs, live music and boozy brunch parties, so grab your gang and get on down. Not a fan of brunch? Head down on an evening to enjoy loaded fries and £4 pints at happy hour.
