Crouch End has officially been named 2023's Best Place to Live in London by the Sunday Times. And yeah, we can see that.

This North London destination is in its own little bubble of suburban tranquillity. Proudly boasting that it does not have an underground station, instead, Crouch End takes on more of a market-town demeanour.
This area excels in charming cafes, leafy parks, beautiful brick architecture and more than its fair share of celebrity faces. According to the Sunday Times says, “Best of all, there’s a friendliness here that’s often absent in the capital – people say hello to each other on the street.”
Places to go...
If you're feeling artsy, head to Arthouse. In this independent cinema and performance space, indulge in moving, thrilling and thought-provoking performances. Or, you can spend the afternoon wandering through independent shops or pretty parkland to work up an appetite. Then, you're spoiled for choice when it comes to food. The options are diverse and high-end. Greek, Japanese, Thai, French, Jamaican, and of course your classic fish and chips; Crouch End is a foodie's dream.
...People to see
We mentioned celebrities, and Crouch End is, indeed, star-studded. If it's good enough for the likes of Tamzin Outhwaite, Gillian Anderson, James McAvoy, Caitlin Moran, David Tennant, Andy Serkis, what better endorsement could you get?
Getting here
So, the area is famous for not having a tube station, but we should say, Hornsey, Harringay, Crouch Hill, Archway and Finsbury Park stations are all nearby. The 41 and 91 bus routes through Crouch End also have night bus services. It's not really cut off from the rest of London, just tucked away enough to feel like a hidden gem.
The best bit? Ally Pally.
Crouch End's claim to fame is its close proximity to Alexandra Palace. A historical landmark, a beautiful walk, an event centre with tons of great things to do throughout the year and one of the best views of the London skyline. That's quite an asset to live around.
